Networking
Manage your app domains, certificates, and outbound IP addresses.
The Networking tab manages the addresses your app answers on and the outbound IPs it connects from.
Domains
When you create an app on Galaxy Metal, you choose a subdomain prefix and Galaxy sets up the Galaxy subdomain automatically. You can't add a Galaxy subdomain from Networking, even if your app currently has only a custom domain.
If your app has a Galaxy subdomain, you can disable and re-enable it without releasing its name, but you can't delete it. Before disabling it, make another active domain primary.
The primary domain determines your app's main URL and the value of ROOT_URL for Meteor apps. It can be a Galaxy subdomain or a custom domain you own. Use the star action on an active domain to make it primary.
Both Open App on the Overview page and View app using this container on the Containers page use this domain.
On paid plans, click Add Custom Domain to connect a domain you own, such as app.yourcompany.com. Custom domains need a DNS record at your registrar (a CNAME for subdomains, an A record for root domains). Galaxy provisions and renews SSL automatically, or you can upload your own certificate. See the Custom Domains guide for DNS setup, and the Custom Certificates section for bringing your own.
The tab shows a table of every configured domain with its status, encryption state, and per-domain actions. From the actions column you can set an active domain as primary, upload a custom TLS certificate, or delete a custom domain. Checking Use custom certificate when you add a domain does the same thing at creation time.
IP Whitelisting
Shows the outbound IPs your containers use for external connections. Add these to your database or external service allow lists. Available on the Professional plan for Meteor apps only.
